March and Prayer Vigil for Human Dignity in El Paso, Texas

The Diocese of El Paso Texas, United States, is promoting a "March and Prayer Vigil" in favor of human dignity with the name "Do not be afraid" on March 21.

In the initiative will participate Bishop Mark Seitz of the Diocese of El Paso and Auxiliary Bishop Anthony Celino of El Paso.

The procession will begin at San Jacinto Plaza (114 W Mills Ave, El Paso) at 6:30 pm to Sacred Heart Church (602 S Oregon St, El Paso) where the prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 pm.

Bishop Mark Seitz warned that "we are at an urgent and challenging time in defending the rights and dignity of vulnerable people on the move" in an official statement on the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling authorizing Texas to temporarily enforce SB4 "a controversial immigration law that empowers state officials to arrest and detain" people seeking unauthorized entry into the United States, a fact that "has caused great concern in the El Paso community."
