Theme of Pope Francis' Message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2024

The theme of Pope Francis' Message for the World Day of Prayer 2024, for the Care of Creation is: "Hope and act with Creation".

The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is celebrated every September 1 and marks the beginning of the Time of Creation, which concludes on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The theme " Hope and act with Creation" is inspired by St. Paul's Letter to the Romans (Rom 8:19-25), in which the apostle acknowledges that "the whole creation groans and suffers" but reminds us that because "in hope we have been saved" we wait "steadfastly."

The transmission of the Holy Father's Message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is entrusted to the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development; the Season of Creation is an ecumenical initiative promoted by different realities, among which are the World Council of Churches, the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), the Anglican Communion, the Laudato Si Movement.
