"Tourism and digital transformation", is the title of the Message delivered by Cardinal Peter K. A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, on the occasion of the World Tourism Day. Promoted by the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the event is celebrated every year on 27 September.
"This celebration - observes Card. Turkson - invites us to reflect on the contribution of technological progress not only to improve tourism products and services, but also because the latter are part of the bedrock of sustainable and responsible development, in the name of which the growth of the sector should be oriented".
"Digital innovation - he continues - is therefore aimed at promoting inclusiveness, increasing the involvement of people and local communities and achieving an intelligent and balanced management of resources.
