Laudato si', balance and perspectives after 5 years

A webinar by the Catholic Central Office for Social Sciences of the German Bishops' Conference, June 24

The Encyclical Letter Laudato si' by Pope Francis is aimed at an economic and social order that serves the holistic development of human persons. It has now been five years since the pontiff published its text on “Caring for the Common Home”.

The "Katholische Sozialwissenschaftlichen Zentralstelle" of the German Bishops' Conference takes this as an opportunity to organize a digital colloquium on "Laudato si' - balance sheet and prospects after five years" together with the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and with other cooperation partners. It will take the form of a zoom webinar on June 24, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Card. Peter K.A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery, will take place in the webinar.

The "Katholische Sozialwissenschaftlichen Zentralstelle", which has existed in Mönchengladbach since 1963, is an institution of the German Bishops' Conference and the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK). The director of the central office has been Msgr. Peter Schallenberg from April 2010.
