During the 2025 Sede Vacante, following the death of Pope Francis, numerous international media outlets requested interviews with the superiors of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development (DPIHD).

Cardinal Czerny on why it shouldn’t matter where the next pope is from
“How do you respond to those who say Francis created confusion?
It’s a very confusing world, and a church that fulfills its vocation is going to cause confusion. I think Jesus caused a lot of confusion. A lot”.
"The task of the whole Church is to take the Gospel to the world, and to do so by living it. As St. Francis of Assisi said: preach the Gospel, if necessary, even with words. For it is a matter of doing, without ostentation. Of witnessing as Samaritans, of responding to the cries of the poor, to the cry of the earth. And of following the Beatitudes and the words of Jesus in view of the final judgment: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked."

Come diceva San Francesco d’Assisi: predicate il Vangelo, se necessario anche con le parole. Perché si tratta di fare, senza ostentazione.
