The Holy Father appoints new Consultors to the Dicastery

On 18 August 2026, Pope Leo XIV appointed new Consultors to the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

As set out in the Apostolic Constitution Praedicate Evangelium, the Consultors of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia, appointed for a five-year term, are chosen “from among the faithful who are distinguished by their expertise, proven ability and prudence” and in their selection, “care must be taken to respect, as much as possible, the criterion of universality” (PE, art. 16). They are therefore theologians, canonists, priests, religious, and laypeople – both men and women – from all over the world who support the Dicastery by contributing their specific human, scientific, pastoral, and ecclesial expertise, offering opinions and insights to help address issues that require particular attention.

The newly appointed Consultors, as published in the Bulletin of the Holy See, are as follows:

·       Rev. Monsignor Peter Klasvogt, Rector of the Pontifical Teutonic College of Santa Maria in Camposanto in Rome (Italy);

·       Rev. Francesco Coluccia, Director of the Office for Pastoral Health Care of the Archdiocese of Otranto (Italy);

·       Rev. Emmanuel Katongole, Professor in the Department of Theology of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend (United States of America);
