The Holy Father Appoints New Members of the Dicastery

On March 30, 2026, Pope Leo XIV appointed new members of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

The members of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia, appointed for five-year terms, are chosen from among cardinals, bishops, men and women religious, and laypeople from around the world to ensure the universal involvement of the Church. The members provide support for exploring and addressing specific issues within the purview of the individual Dicasteries.

 

The new appointments, published in the Bulletin of the Holy See, are:

-    Their Excellencies Monsignors: Fulgence Muteba Mugalu, Archbishop of Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of the Congo), and Lizardo Estrada Herrera, O.S.A., Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cuzco (Peru);

-    the Reverend Fathers Daniel Gerard Groody, C.S.C., Vice-Provost and Associate Provost for University Education at the University of Notre Dame (United States of America), and Rampeoane Hlobo, S.I., Director of the Jesuit Justice and Ecology Network Africa in Nairobi (Kenya);

-    the Reverend Sister Linah Siabana, S.M.N.D.A., Psychologist;

-    the Most Distinguished Gentlemen: Meghan J. Clark, Vice Dean of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Saint John’s University in New York (United States of America); Dylan Mason Corbett, Executive Director of the Hope Border Institute in El Paso (United States of America); Léocadie Wabo Lushombo, Professor of Theological Ethics at the Jesuit School of Theology, Santa Clara University, Berkeley (United States of America); Christine Nathan, President of the International Catholic Migration Commission in Geneva (Switzerland); Carlos A. Nobre, Researcher at the Instituto de Estudos Avançados of the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil);
