The Common Good in the Digital Age (26-28 September 2019)

In the General Curia of Jesuits in Rome, the International Meeting on "The Common Age in the Digital Age" - co-organised by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and the Pontifical Council for Culture -  started with the participation of about 100 participants from all over the world. Experts in new technologies, ethicians, academics and representatives of companies of digital assets gather to discuss and reflect on how the digital technologies can be for the good of human beings. 

Cardinal Peter K. A. Turkson gave his opening speech and in a short video explains the purposes of the gathering. "If human dignity is something common to all humanity, than protecting and ensuering development and dignity for everybody becomes the frame for the common good and that is what we seek to discuss in this meeting", says the Prefect of our Dicastery. 

His greeting was fallowed be the greeting of H. Exc. Bp. Paul Tighe, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture.

Msgr. Bruno-Marie Duffé, Secretary, gave an introduction on the Ethical approach to the issues and challenges  of the Digital Age. 

The programme continued with the Audience with His Holiness Pope Francis and more round tables and working groups.
