The event was organised by the Secretariat of State and the Pontifical Academies of Sciences and Social Sciences

On 4 October a conference entitled 'Care for Our Common Home', organised by the Secretariat of State in collaboration with the Pontifical Academies for the Sciences and Social Sciences, was held at the Casina Pio IV in the Vatican.

The event was held in preparation for the COP27 and COP15 summit on biodivesity, which will be held respectively in November in Sharm el-Sheikh and in December in Montreal, and on the occasion of the Holy See's accession to the UNFCCC - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Climate Agreements.

Cardinal Michael Czerny, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, took part in the initiative by presenting a video, produced by the DPIHD with the collaboration of Vatican News and entitled "Care for the Common Home: the Voice of Civil Society".
